TNO Work and Employment

TNO Work and Employment plays an important role in Europe's health and safety research. In the Netherlands, we are the leading institute on research and consultancy in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH). TNO Work and Employment seeks and develops innovative approaches to work, organization and technology and draws on its knowledge to address conditions in the workplace.

The institute embraces an integrated approach to human resources, organisation and technology in pursuit of its primary mission: the creation of conditions which will allow employees to work in a productive and healthy way. With the synergy that results from combining its crucial role as a national research institute and its engagement with the private sector, TNO Work and Employment occupies a unique, central position in the area of strategic and complex labour issues. From here, TNO is well-positioned to undertake initiatives. A distinct part of our services is offered to institutions and companies from abroad.

Who We Are

TNO is Europe's second largest research institute for technological and strategic research and consultancy. By aptly bringing scientific knowledge into practice we aim to optimise the innovative abilities of industry and government. Our 5,500 employees cover a wide range of research topics and work daily on the development and application of knowledge.

TNO Work and Employment, one of the 15 TNO institutes, plays an important role in Europe's health and safety research. Partner's Contribution to Diversity at Work

As partner in DiManT, TNO Work and Employment offers its knowledge and experience on Diversity and Diversity Management, and its network of Dutch experts in this field. This network consists of consultants and trainers, but also of government officials responsible for social policies, managers in organisations working with diversity management, etc. Within DiManT, TNO will provide an overview of already existing Dutch diversity material and the needs of Dutch stakeholders. We will be a partner in developing new training material and the dissemination of this material.

What We Can Do for You

TNO Work and Employment offers a broad range of services:

  • Strategic research on behalf of Dutch government entities and agencies such as the Ministry of Social Affairs and other national institutions
  • Consultancy on safety and ergonomic product design and development, on both the national and the international level.
  • Management consultancy on organizational innovation and personnel policies in order to cultivate the efficient and healthy work processes that are necessary to reduce and eliminate health and productivity risks such as stress.
  • Support of intermediary organizations such as Occupational Health Services in the performance of their activities, by supplying know-how, data systems and training.
