4. Feedback of Evaluation Results
Aim
- To provide information and feedback on the complete DM project to all employees and managers
- To propose new activities for the next period of the project
What Needs to be Done
It is not always necessary to write up a report on the evaluation results, but it is important to feedback the outcomes of the evaluation (even on a small scale) to all in the DM project - employees and management.
Providing Feedback
Feeding back the results of the DM evaluation to management and employees maintains employee interest and encourages management support. This can be done in different ways. These include:
- Making a presentation to the entire organisation
- Meetings with different sections/units/offices
- Paper publications, for example through articles in the organisation newsletter, posters on billboards
- Using organisational Intranet or e-mail system
The form of communication used depends on the group you wish to target and the information you wish to impart. The Communication Strategies Tool provides examples of the different forms of communication which may be used.
Getting Feedback
It is important to get information from employees, management and the project team on whether their needs have been fulfilled and what future activities could be undertaken to improve the DM programme. Employees' opinions on the success and possible improvements for the diversity management improvement project can be gained from feedback sessions (see Feedback Sessions Tool ). The opinions of management and key personnel may be obtained using interview techniques and the opinion of the project team may be gained through discussion amongst team members (see Interview Guidelines Tool).
It is important that the DM project is treated as an on-going activity in the organisation. Once all the activities proposed have been implemented, the organisation should undertake another cycle through the process. Who is Involved?
The project team, management, programme participants.
